Pay Period Calculator

Say how often you are paid and how much you receive. You get the same pay in every other cadence, your hourly equivalent, and what you are owed if you only worked part of the period.

About this calculator

Twice a month is not every two weeks

Twice a month is 24 cheques a year, always on the same dates. Every two weeks is 26, because 52 weeks divided by 2 is 26.

Those two extra cheques are why two people on the same annual salary can see different amounts per pay. That is why the two are listed separately here rather than folded together.

How this is calculated

Your pay is converted to annual by multiplying by the periods in a year, then divided by the periods of each other cadence.

Proration divides the days you worked by the days in the period and applies that fraction to the full amount.

Important limitations

  • Everything is gross, before taxes, social security and deductions. For take-home pay use the Net Salary Calculator.
  • Proration is straight-line and does not account for your employer's own rules or paid holidays.
  • It does not compute overtime; the overtime calculator does that.
